Muck and Frozen Snow Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. —Ephesians 4:23

I sat shivering in the small travel trailer with my arms wrapped around my shoulders. How on earth was I going to survive ten days of no electricity, breaking ice from the creek to carry water, and preparing meals for a group of hunters? Love for my husband had me agreeing to fill in as camp cook, but not even twenty-four hours had passed and I was ready to quit! Then I heard two of my husband’s clients talking outside by the fire pit. “I saved up all year for this trip,” said one. “Yeah,” the other agreed. “It’s gonna be great.” I laughed. The same hunting trip that had me cowering in a corner was a delight and treasure to the men outside. “Lord,” I prayed, “please change my attitude.” That was over a decade ago, and the Lord was so faithful in His answer to that prayer that I haven’t missed a hunting trip since. You couldn’t pay me to stay away.

A lot of circumstances are more livable through a change of attitude.
