The Power of Words Kind words are like honey — sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. —Proverbs 16:24

I learned about God when I was a child. I met Him personally when I was a single mother of two toddlers. My frustration level was high and my patience low. I became a screaming, swearing mom. When God blessed me with an emergency appendectomy, I was put on the sidelines. Then I could hear God; then I accepted Jesus into my heart; then I surrendered my miserable life to Him. God lovingly showed me how blessed I was to have these beautiful children in my life. He showed me how disgusting it was when I screamed and swore at them. He made those words taste terrible in my mouth. He made my heart hurt whenever I hurt their little hearts. He taught me compassion and unconditional love. Striving to reclaim their self-esteem and display the love of Christ, I began to show my children respect, to say please and thank you, and to be patient with them. I have determined that my words will build up and not tear down.

Words have an everlasting effect, bringing life or death. Resolve now that your words will bring life! — Kelly J. Stigliano —
