God’s Heartwarming Hug I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! —Isaiah 65:24

It was a very cold, windy, winter day. The funeral service for our good friend was in the morning. His wife had died six months earlier and he had been sick a long time. After the service, we reached out in love to his daughter with cookies and hugs. Several hours later, we were at the cemetery for another longtime friend. The bitter cold wind swept the words away, but knowing he loved the Lord made it easier. Having hugged the family, we went home. I felt drained and exhausted. Before I had time to pray, the doorbell rang. In came our pastor friend, who gave me a great big bear hug. It lifted my spirits. About fifteen minutes later, our associate pastor friend also came in, bringing another bear hug. It was a double affirmation from God of His love and care. He filled my cup to overflowing, enabling me to reach out again.
