His Understanding Is Unlimited How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! —Psalm 147:5

Mom was dying, although I didn’t realize it. Every day after work, I drove forty minutes to spend the evening at the hospital. Besides work, the hospital visits, and caring for Dad, I also was a volunteer youth worker and sang in the church choir. Leaders at my church expected members to be there Sunday morning and night, Wednesday night, and for teacher meetings, choir practice, and other events. After several weeks, I just couldn’t keep up with it all. I couldn’t skip work, and I couldn’t abandon Mom and Dad. So I began to skip some church activities. This was not received kindly by some people at my church. I felt guilty, tired, and like an emotional wreck. One day I spent my lunch hour sobbing in my car at the worry and weariness of it all. “Lord, I don’t mean to be unspiritual,” I prayed. “But I just can’t do it all.” “Don’t worry; I understand. I love you,” He answered. With those words, He released me from others’ expectations. Nothing else seemed to matter as long as I realized He knew

what I was going through and knew I was doing my best.

The One who loves us most always understands the challenges we face. His understanding is unlimited. — Jossy Grey —
