Share Your Life We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too. —1 Thessalonians 2:8
The teen had come to my wife and me out of terror. “I’m pregnant and everyone says I should have an abortion. But I don’t want one,” she said through her tears. We talked about options for this baby—adoption, raising it herself, finding a home where she knew it would be raised with Christian values. “But where would I live if I don’t have an abortion? My dad won’t let me come home. He says I disgraced our family.” Near our church was a home for unwed mothers. I told the girl, “We’ll take you there tonight. You’ll have a bed and a place to live until the baby comes.” We drove her over, got her settled in, then visited regularly and took her to church activities for the rest of her pregnancy. In the end, she made an adoption plan and the baby was placed into a good home. Later she said, “You gave me not only the Bible but yourselves. I’ll never forget it.”
