The Father Who Cares And you saw how the Lord your God cared for you all along the way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as a father cares for his child. —Deuteronomy 1:31
Babe, I checked your oil and it looks okay,” Dad said as he shut the front door behind him. “Your windshield fluid was getting low, so I added some. And I think I’ll go put some air in your tires.” He barely heard my thanks as he turned around and went out the door again. I kept chatting with Mom until he returned. Nearly every time I drove across town to visit my parents, Dad checked my car’s vitals. He also made sure I always had tools, an emergency kit in my trunk, and a full tank of gas. And if the car needed to go into the shop, Dad took it while I was at work. Maintaining my car was just one of the ways Dad took care of me. He helped with my little fix-up house, took care of my pets when I was gone, even frequently checked to make sure I had enough money. Because my father showed such loving care for me, it’s easier for me to have faith in the Father who’s promised to care for me.
