“Fix It, Daddy” Jesus looked at them intently and said, “ Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” —Matthew 19:26

Our boys learned early in life that Daddy could fix almost anything. It took years of maturity for them to insert the important almost. The hard fact of life is that not everything can be glued, duct taped, or stapled together. While a scraped knee can be washed and bandaged, hurt feelings are a little more difficult to treat. A broken heart can seem impossible to fix, but our heavenly Daddy can do what our earthly one cannot. Our loving God does not insert an almost. He promises in Matthew 19:26 that with God, all things are possible. Just as my sons stood at the doorway to Daddy’s workshop with the broken pieces of a favorite toy and cried out, “Fix it, Daddy,” all Christians have to do is stand before God’s mercy seat with their broken hearts and dreams, and cry out to Him, “Fix it, Daddy.”

The loving God of the universe might not always fix it the way we expect, but He will fix it. — Joyce McDonald Hoskins —
