Showing His Love Give as freely as you have received! —Matthew 10:8
When my brother, Steve, and I were ages eight and nine, our parents often treated us to a Saturday afternoon at the movies. I remember one Christmas time when we were done with the movies and waiting for our parents to pick us up. It was cold, but we didn’t mind because we were waiting in front of a store that had a wind-up train on display in the window. The shop owner saw us mesmerized by the train and kept winding it up for us. After a bit, he came with a box and packed it all up. We were heartbroken when he took it away, out of the window. The next thing we knew he came out the front door and gave the box to us, saying, “Merry Christmas!” That was more than fifty-five years ago, but I still remember to this day the joy that filled me when he handed us that box.
The joy that comes from giving, even if it is something small, can last a lifetime. — Bruce Dalman —
