The Art of Love Giving Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give! —Proverbs 21:26
Before we go home, I want to get a little gift for each of my children,” my friend told me while we were shopping. “Tomorrow is my birthday.” I thought this odd and asked, “Why are you buying them something on your birthday? Shouldn’t they be giving you the gifts? After all, it is your birthday.” “I know, but it’s just one way I have of letting them know I love them. This is a tradition I have followed since my first baby was born.” That evening, I thought about her unusual tradition of giving gifts on her birthday. I could not help but think of all the gifts God my Father has given to me: peace, family, friends, and the greatest of all gifts, His Son. These constant gifts are His way of letting me know how much He loves me.
