Radiating God’s Love So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. —2 Corinthians 3:18
That must be the house.” My mother’s uncertainty about leaving me, her fourteenyear-old daughter, at the home of strangers, even for a Bible meeting, showed in her voice. While I longed to grow in my new Christian faith, I felt an overwhelming shyness about entering a new situation. For several minutes I sat in the car, searching for a familiar face. Just then a young man approached us. He knocked on the glass. “Can I help you ladies?” We both gasped, not from fear, but amazement! Like a visible halo, the Holy Spirit shone around the young man’s face. It was as if Christ himself stood there! God’s love radiated from his eyes, entering our hearts and calming our fears and doubts. In an instant, my fears and my mother’s doubts evaporated. “Is this the right house for Student Life?” I managed to ask. “Yes.” Completely at peace, I accompanied him inside, ready for the next new experience in my walk with Christ.
