But What About Me? And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 4:19

I was jealous of the dog. My husband said the mutt we call Annie is the dog he always wanted. Every day he takes Annie for long walks through the woods while I stay home with my bum knee. Her daily needs are his priority. “That’s my girl,” he tells her several times a day. I want to be his girl. Recently my husband was looking for a car to replace the one I had. One day I found an eleven-year-old, one-owner, garage-kept vehicle that was the exact model, body shape, and color I wanted, and it only had 30,300 miles. My husband was astounded. He’d been looking for cars in good condition and in our price range for months and hadn’t found anything. How could I have found that car? Imagine my sense of awe when the thought came to me, Why, I’m God’s girl. He provided for me. I know God cares for me. I’m no longer jealous of the dog.

No matter how we feel, God’s care and love for us is constant. — Jean Davis —
